Do you struggle with cooking healthy? Do you struggle with cooking in general? Here’s my favorite method for taking almost all the effort out of cooking healthy at home.

I really don’t enjoy cooking all that much and neither does my wife.

There’s some health peeps I can’t watch because I know they love cooking too much. I can’t get there. I can’t follow their advice because I’ll never have the cooking passion they have.

To be clear…

I have no interest in browsing Pinterest to look for fun new recipes to try.

I have no interest in searching up and down the aisles of a grocery store looking for one-off ingredients.

I have no interest in turning the limited time I have for lunch or dinner into a damn chemistry experiment.

So, we eat out a lot because there are tons of healthy places to do that. That’s one low-effort tip, but it’s not *the* low-effort tip.

Three to four times a week, we switch it up and actually cook something at home (aside from breakfast which we always cook because it’s super easy and we just put a few things on rotation).

These lunches and dinners are amazing meals and some of the healthiest meals we eat each week.

And it’s so simple! So simple it feels like cheating, which is exactly why I do it.

Here’s my entire process…

  1. Scroll through an app and choose the best 3 options out of 9 available options each week.
  2. Open my front door, pick up the box off my doorstep every Tuesday, and take it inside.
  3. Open the box, take out 3 bags of ingredients, and put them in the fridge (no shopping, yay!)
  4. Take one bag out of the fridge, cook the recipe on the card, and enjoy.
  5. Repeat 2 more times while making sure to pat myself on the back.

If you’re in the U.S., this same process is available to you.

There’s many different services like this to choose from, but not all of them are healthy (or delicious).

My personal favorite is Sun Basket.

I recommend that everyone try it at least once so you can experience what it’s like to take something that’s pretty frustrating and time consuming for a lot of people – like shopping and cooking healthy – and make it stupid simple.

Oh, and just so you know, you don’t need any cooking skills whatsoever. It’s really that easy.

It’s also a good way to experience new foods and ingredients you’ve never tried before. There’s about a half dozen or so foods I eat now that I never knew I liked, simply because Sun Basket turned me on to them.

Have you tried Sun Basket or do you have a similar healthy meal delivery service that you love? Let us know in the comments!
